We all have lovely people in our lives, besides our families, who make each day a little brighter: your phone buddy, who giggles with you or lends a sympathetic ear (you know who you are), or that wonderful friend down the road who says, "Sure, I can watch all of the kids while you take care of ..." Yes, we appreciate them so much, but sometimes we are reminded of just how blessed we really are.
Our birthday parties have gotten unmanageably large over the last few years. Our extended family is (wonderfully) loaded with children, and most of our best friends have 3 or 4 kids each. After a week of stressing out over the logistics of 20+ kids and parents, I took the suggestion of one of these lovely moms and decided to have a party on a weekday at the park with our buddies. Our family event would be saved for the weekend, since most of the cousins attend traditional school.
All of my wonderful mommy friends were kind enough to come to our spur-of-the-moment birthday party at the park. They were so gracious to me despite the last minute call, and they made my squirt's day wonderful. I'd like to thank them for their generosity of spirit and time.
Take a minute today to remember all of the wonderful people in your life and maybe let them know how much you appreciate their friendship next time you visit!
